Located in Ubud in the beautiful Santa Mandala accomodation, I felt the urge to discover the island of Bali and at the same time transform the inspiration into the visible form of a painting.
The mandala has got influences of the recent travels in Japan and Taiwan, including the famous mountain and wave, with a TAO dragon and yinyang symbol. It also shows the dynamics and inner struggles of mind, this dynamic is the "Chi". The golden look of this mandala is to show that the high value of these dynamics that are shaping the focus with the all seeing eye symbol, the focus on the future and our self as a center in the universe. The sharp edged circle on the outside is for the protection of the inner strength so only the power of will remains without negative distractions.
